Notes from HDNUG

August meeting

Yes I know TechFest has come and gone and was a big success but I have not been able to post the August meeting pictures until now because of working on it. There are about 70 pix from that so it may take some time. There will probably be more info at www.houstontechfest.com/ The August meeting was pretty good. We had to squeeze into a smaller room so we changed the seating arrangments from our usual meeting setup.
By the time the meeting started there was no a lot seats available
Our sponsor for the month Whitaker Consulting had this great idea for a triva game and for up some big bucks as prizes.
We got volunteers for three teams to answer some pretty tricky questions.

Linda from Whitaker served as our master questioner and host, er, hostess I mean.
Each member of the winning team got a $100 Best Buy Gift Cert. Much thanks to the great people from Whitaker for trying and doing some thing new and different.
After that Mike Azocar gave a great talk on team system 2008 but I didn't get any pictures of that. Michael is an excellent speaker though and we owe him huge thanks for this meeting as well as his sessions at TechFest.

July HDNUG meeting

The July meeting with Stephen was a huge success with 160 of you all showing up which made the pizza go very fast even though I keep buying more every month.
I am going to try and post some photos of the meeting here which is something new and we will see if it works,

June Meeting

We had another great meeting in June with over 130 people showing up to hear Ben Scheirman talk about Advanced Web Design Techniques.

Ben will also be speaking at the Houston Techfest on Aug 25..

It looks like I have been ignoring the blogging part of the web site.
I will try and improve on that.

Next Meeting

Sorry about the meeting being rescheduled but it was beyond our control.
At the Feb. meeting which will be held on Feb.23 we have some interesting things happening.

First there will be the awards given out  for last years Texas .Net User Group Olympics. Be sure to come and honor the three winners.

Next we have a survey that we want you to fill out so we can better plan the coming year. As an incentive everyone who fills out the survey will get a raffle ticket. We so many people having at least one ticket, yes you can only fillout the survey once, we are going to have to have more than the usual number of books so be sure and be there.

We have an excellent speaker and the pizza will not be bad either.
