Which Staffing Firm to use?!?

I am a .NET Developer and have about 5 years of experience with normal C#, VB, and SQL/Oracle skill set. I am interested in doing some contract work in Houston but have no idea which one of the 1,000 firms to use.

Here in Tulsa I know which ones take huge cuts of the contractors' checks and which ones do not. Also, I know which ones have ins at the places like ConocoPhillips where the rates are highest. I am LOST when it comes to Houston though. There are just too many. I have no clue as to has ins with BP or ExxonMobil for example.

I hear the range for good contracts with the big energy firms range from 70 to over a 100 an hour down here. The rates arent posted like that, but then again the high rate jobs arent posted in Tulsa either either. I have yet to hear of a job for less than 50 an hour in Tulsa, and the rate are never that high on the internet ads.

Any opinions on which firms are the best to use?
