Winforms/VB.net Developer needed in the GWP Area of Houston !

The primary role of this position is to assist with the support, enhancement, and maintenance of all custom developed and DST vendor applications to support Global Transfer Agency clients. Primary Responsibilities: 60% of time will: Assist with the support, enhancement, and maintenance of over 40 applications to include the following: Perform troubleshooting analysis and resolution; Create new applications in .NET and Test and verify software and hardware upgrades/maintenance; Perform system configurations as required and Coordinate with vendors to resolve and/or investigate issues and questions; Superior customer service skills to ensure systems meet the needs of clients. 40% of time will: Perform software development of applications primarily in .NET, however also maintain older Visual Basic 6 applications to include: Application design, code, test, deployment, and maintenance; Database design such as table layout, views, and stored procedures. Required Skills/Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in an information services environment, Microsoft .NET certification (preferred) .NET 1.0 and 2.0 framework, Minimum 2 years experience in developing WinForm Distributed Applications with VB.NET, Software development skills in Visual Basic 6; Minimum 2 years experience writing applications and creating stored procedures utilizing Microsoft SQL server or equivalent RDBMS; Experience with a formalized software development lifecycle process; Ability to manage projects, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment. Must have the work ethic that demands an approach that is thorough, complete, and accurate to ensure the proper operation of a 24x7 system. Adaptable and resourceful, capable of working under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines with limited resources. Must possess a solid understanding of software and hardware systems used in assigned area. Must have exceptional ability in diagnosing and solving information system problems while maintaining professionalism and courtesy. Must have the ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. Hours may include evenings and/or weekends and may include 24 hour a day on call support by pager and/or cell phone. STATE AND FEDERAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND FINGERPRINTING REQUIRED.
